Biotechnology
What is biotechnology? The Biotechnology Innovation Organization, or BIO, states that "biotechnology harnesses cellular and biomolecular processes to develop technologies and products that help improve our lives and the health of our planet." Using this definition, applications for biotechnology are broad from agriculture to medicine, energy production, chemical processing, industrial manufacturing, and bioremediation (or environmental clean-up).
