The deadline to petition for Associate Degrees (AA/AS) and Certificates is Friday, April 28th.

The deadline to petition for Associate Degrees for Transfer (ADT) has passed.

All students who have already completed a petition to graduate with their counselor for Fall 2022 or Spring 2023 will receive a confirmation from the graduation office. Please check your email in April for instructions about how to participate in the graduation ceremony.

Represent the Class of 2023

Are you interested in representing your graduating class as Valedictorian or Salutatorian? The Valedictorian and Salutatorian are the two highest honors that are bestowed on individual graduating students. Criteria and requirements can be found by following the application link below. Don’t wait, the deadline to apply is April 29, 2023.

Are you looking for your photos from the 2022 ceremony? Visit, where you can search for your photos and purchase a package. Make sure to use "Los Angeles Mission College" in the School field.

Commencement FAQ

Yes, rehearsals will take place the Monday before the ceremony for approximately an hour and a half. The date and time will be released shortly.

All graduates should report directly to Campus Center for instructions. If you cannot attend, just please follow the usher's instructions on the day of the ceremony.

The LAMC bookstore sells the full set of gown, hat, and tassel and you can also purchase Honor’s Chords for an additional fee in early May. See LAMC Student Store website for more details.

The L.A. Department of Health has removed all restrictions for outside gatherings at this time, but measures may change without notice. Social Distancing and Masks are now optional. LAMC will live stream the event for family and friends who cannot attend in person.

Ideally, please RSVP here. You can still attend the ceremony on Tuesday, June 6th but you must wear the appropriate graduation robe and cap to participate and your name may not appear on the program.

Please be on time. Graduating students only report directly to the Campus Center on Tuesday, June 6th at 10 am.

No personal items should be brought to the campus center. You will be given a card with your name/degree on the card. Please do not bring guests inside the Campus Center, they are invited to report to the quad area.

Only your main major degree will be called after your name when you walk on stage.

You can invite as many guests as you would like, but please note that seating is very limited. Please remind family and friends that the ceremony will be live-streamed, check this page closer to the date of the ceremony for an announcement.

Parking will be FREE on the date of the ceremony, and we encourage all parties to utilize the parking structure and avoid disrupting the neighborhood community.

A sign language interpreter will be present for the entire ceremony. If you need other special access or accommodations, please contact the Vice President of Administrative Services at (818) 364-7780.

The designated area will be limited to the person with the disability and just one guest to assist them. The rest of your party will need to be seated in the general audience. Wristbands will be issued for this designated area.

Please do not bring your pets. Comfort pets are not allowed.

Unfortunately, no. Please leave your child or children with a family member or friend in the auidence. Children are allowed in the audience with the other guests but not to walk in the processional or on stage.

You are not required to purchase invitations to invite guests. However, announcements are available for purchase at the LAMC Student Store.

Yes, graduates are invited to take photos outside with their families and friends.

Admissions & Records will verify that you have completed all the requirements for your degree. Printed diplomas are mailed by October. Make sure that your address is updated in your Student Portal.

Professional photographers will take your photo before you go on stage and before your name is called. You are not obligated to purchase the photos. Visit after the ceremony to view and purchase photo packages.

LAMC will provide a streaming option during the ceremony for anyone who cannot attend the ceremony in person. Please check this website approximately one week before the ceremony for more information.

Public Accommodation: We encourage people with disabilities to participate in college activities/events. If you anticipate needing any type of accommodation, or have questions about issues of access at the location of the activity/event, please contact the Vice President of Administrative Services at or call (818) 364-7780 as soon as possible, but no later than seven business days prior to the event.
