Black Scholars and A2MEND Programs

The Black Scholars Program at Los Angeles Mission College is a cultural learning community for students of color who identify as Black, African, African-American, Afro-Latino, Afro-Caribbean, Afro-Asian, Afro-European, and others. We are all about boosting academic success, getting involved in cultural activities, offering leadership opportunities, and creating a supportive environment. Students in the program get perks like early enrollment, help with applications and registration, academic tutoring, financial aid guidance, counseling, professional development, mentorship, and support with graduation requirements.

The African American Male Education Network Development (A²MEND) Program aims to support underrepresented students, faculty, staff, and administrators at California's community colleges. It focuses on providing mentoring and driving equity-focused change within the community college system.
