Our goal is to increase the number of talented biology majors who go on to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in a broad range of scientific endeavors.

The National Science Foundation has awarded Los Angeles Mission College with a $1.3 million grant to support efforts to increase success rates for biology majors. Award #1832348

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

  • Declared Biological Sciences major (Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Cell & Molecular Biology, Ecology, etc.) at LAMC
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Enrolled in Trig (240) or College Alg (245) and will continue to Pre-Calc (260).
  • Student Educational Plan approved by STEM counselor
  • Eligible students who participate in 80% or more of the workshops and pass their class will receive a $400 gift card.
