Dear LAMC Family,

Welcome back!  The Dream Resource Center (DRC) is now open to assist students in person.  We will be assisting students by appointment during our office hours.  Please call our office to schedule an appointment.
We hope to see you soon!

Now on to exciting news!

We have a great opportunity for students who are enrolled at LAMC and are seeking financial assistance for their Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) application fee.

If you are enrolled at LAMC and would like assistance paying for your DACA application, please complete the interest form to receive more information.

Also, do not forget our partner legal agency CHIRLA. Here are the services they will provide for our LAMC students:

First Time DACA Applicants:
Our department is hosting weekly initial DACA virtual legal clinics on Wednesdays at 3 p.m. where students will learn about Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), requirements, and where we can determine their eligibility. Once students sign up, they will receive an email confirmation with a zoom link to attend our legal clinic, as well as a phone call confirming their participation. The technological requirements to serve the student effectively are as follows:
  • Access to a smart device, computer, that has access to the internet
  • Reliable internet connection that works with Zoom
  • Ability to use docusign, adobe ‘sign & fill’, or other electronic signature feature
  • Ability to submit documents via email
  • Ability to open PDFs with Adobe

Students who require assistance with renewing their current DACA work permit may sign up through the link below. They will then be contacted by a CHIRLA caseworker within 48 hours to begin the process and go over the required documentation for their application. We ask that students have a copy of their past renewal readily available.

DACA Funding Opportunities:
CHIRLA is currently assisting students with the $495 DACA fee for those who are California Community College students, faculty, or staff, or alumni in the last 2 years. If students are interested, they should sign up for our services and inquire when speaking to the CHIRLA staff member.
CHIRLA Representative of the Day:
CHIRLA Student Legal Services is launching a new service with our partner schools called CHIRLA Representative of the Day. If students, faculty, and staff would like general information, clarifications, case updates, or resources, students may log into the zoom link and have these matters answered by an attorney or a CHIRLA accredited representative. Students, faculty, and staff can also refer their immediate family members (parents, siblings, and spouses), friends and neighbors to log into the zoom link for quick consultations. This service will be available to all students every Friday from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Please share the following zoom link with your campus/students:
One-on-One Immigration Consultations:
If students are unable to attend any of our virtual legal clinics or want to have their immigration matters discussed in an individual setting, students may sign up for an scheduled virtual legal consultation to speak with an attorney or CHIRLA accredited representative. They may either sign up through the partner school’s website or visit our schedule landing page at: (be sure to select "General immigration consultation").
