Crime Scene Investigation Academy

The objective of the academy is to teach an understanding of the fundamental theories of physical evidence and practical application in a 7 week, Saturday’s only, hands-on course. The goal is to expose participants to some of the techniques of crime scene investigation and create an interest in forensic science.  During the seven week training program (56 hours), participants will also be exposed to the numerous job opportunities in forensic science, both in the public and private sector.

The course will culminate with a practical exercise whereby the class will utilize a team approach at a realistic crime scene. Team members will present their findings to ramisupervising Criminalists who will critique their work.

The CSI Academy offered through the LAMC Community Education Program is a short-term, not-for-credit class.  College credit is not given for the class.  There are no transcripts or grades.
