New Online Training Available to Faculty and Staff! 

Microsoft IT Academy Online Training Program


As member of the Microsoft IT Academy program, Los Angeles Mission College Information Technology Department in partnership with the Title V HSI, Teacher Prep Program, and the Facutly & Staff Development Committee, presents the Microsoft IT Academy program.


Microsoft IT Academy provides online technology learning opportunities for staff and faculty in an effort to increase professional development goals.

What are the program benefits?

  • Faculty and staff have full access to the program for Professional Development at anytime, and anywhere.
  • Faculty may utilize the MS IT Academy program as teaching tools, e-reference library, and incorporate the program into their curriculum.
  • Prepare for Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS)
  • There are many courses being offered to expand the learning scope and expand into new curriculum.

Four steps to get start Microsoft IT Academy program! 

Step 1Obtain a Windows Live ID

Windows Live ID (formerly Microsoft Passport) is the identity and authentication system for Microsoft online services.  To simplify the login process, Windows Live ID uses an email address and a password to access to Microsoft IT Academy Program.


Your Windows Live ID is your email address from Hotmail, Microsoft Messenger or MSN if you had one.  If you don't have Windows Live ID, or think you may have one, but have forgotten what it was, you can go to the Windows Live ID home page to recover or apply for a new one.  You may use any email account address* such as Yahoo, Gmail, Verizon, Comcast, etc ... when applying for a new Windows Live ID.

Note: * You cannot use your Mission Outlook email account.


Step 2: Obtain an Access Code

Click Here to request the MS IT Academy Access Code (login required)

Click on the core training name that you would like to access for training.

The portal system will send an access code to your Mission email account.


Step 3: Enter the Access Code

Redeem Access Code

a. Click

b. Click the box to accept End User License Agreement

c. In the Access Code box, type the access code you received in Step 2

d. Enter your school e-mail address and click the Enter button.

e. Upon successful sign in, you will be directed to a Thank You confirmation page.


After Access Code Redemption

If you have already redeemed the access code above, you can return to the Microsoft IT Academy E-Learning Central site at and sign in.

Step 4: Sign In

a. Click the Sign In button

b. Enter the Windows Live ID and Password that you had obtained from step 1 to sign in.

c. Click on the course link to view all the courses your access code included.
