Welcome to Art 201, beginning drawing, and Art 501, beginning two dimensional design. This site was largely developed as a visual resource for concepts discussed in Art 201, and images are categorized in a way which reflects this. As the semester (Spring 2009) progresses, images meant to serve as examples which are specific to the design class will be added. There will likely be a new tab for each new major concept as it is introduced, so if you are confused about the week's theme, check back here and you may find something helpful.
For those of you in Art 201, one of the major goals of the particular selection of drawings on this site was to demonstrate just how wide the range of acceptable styles (for the completion of assignments in my class, and in the "art world") might be. What matters is that you've made choices in your work, choices that demonstrate both intention and care.
