CLASS PROJECT
PSYCHOLOGICAL PORTFOLIO
*Each student will develop a portfolio of narrative descriptions of personal life experiences that illustrate psychological principles or concepts from each chapter in the text. Student will choose two topics from each chapter, and describe, in detail, specific life experiences that demonstrate the concept from the text. As two topics are expected from each chapter, 30 different topics must be discussed in total. Each topic’s correlated life experience must be discussed separate, in order to receive credit. Chapter topics must be presented in order of text. Each topic must be typed, double spaced, and presented on its own sheet of paper. Thus, total pages of portfolio upon completion must be minimum 30 pages. Length of description of life experience must be developed enough to demonstrate discussion of the idea.
*Project will be evaluated according to the following:
-Relevance of experiences to the course material/chapter topics
-Extent of student’s descriptions
-Extent of coverage (across the range of course topics)
-Originality (ability to make clever or non-obvious connections between clippings and concepts)
-Organization (the order in which the work is put together)
**Work should follow text order and be bound in appropriate fashion.
*Do not use experiences/stories found online or in textbook as they will not be given credit and will count as plagiarism.
----The focus of this assignment is to relate specific pieces of text/class information to something that you have personally experienced in your life.
*Remember, this project is worth 15% of your grade and is due by 12/6/12. You may turn in earlier if interested. If turned in after class session on due date, student will lose half credit. Project must be turned in to Professor during class time. Emailed projects will not be accepted, nor will leaving work in mailbox. Both will result in half credit.
