Dear ESL 5A Students,

Welcome back to Mission College!  I hope that you have had a good, restful winter break.  I am excited for the spring semester to start, and I hope that you are too. 

I have uploaded the class syllabus on to my website.  Please review it and if you have a printer, please print it and bring it on the first day of class.  If you have already bought your coursepack, it is not necessary for you to do so. The textbooks are available in the bookstore now; you should purchase them as soon as possible to avoid long lines next week.  The bookstore is open today, tomorrow, and Saturday as well.  

The materials for the course are as follows:
1.  Coursepack
2.  Understanding and Using English Grammar with Answer Key (4^th ed.) by Betty Azar and Stacy     Hagen;  ISBN #978-0-13-233331-3
3.  Understanding and Using English Grammar Workbook (4^th ed.) by Betty Azar,                           Rachel Koch, Stacy Hagen; ISBN # 978-0-13-241543-9
4.  English-English Dictionary (any publisher is acceptable)
5.  Thesaurus  (any publisher is acceptable)
6.  Understanding and Using English Grammar Interactive – Computer Program by Betty Azar and Stacy Hagen; ISBN #978-013-715-7754  (OPTIONAL)

 #1-5 are required materials;   #6 is optional, and is a computer grammar program that goes together with the textbook and workbook.  If you want to buy the computer  program, the bookstore will bundle it altogether with the textbook and workbook for a lower cost.  If you do not want the computer program, you do not have to; just purchase the textbook and workbook. 

Our class is currently completely full with a waiting list.  Therefore, YOU MUST BE PRESENT ON THE 1ST DAY OF CLASS OR ELSE YOU WILL BE DROPPED.   Please inform your classmates who do not have access to computers.
