Chef Instructor
Chef Higgins has over 20 years in the culinary arts industry. She is one of the adjunct instructors since 1999 working full time, working both with Mission College and Los Angeles County of Education. Chef Higgins has an Associate’s Degree (AA) in Food Service Management from the Culinary Arts Institute @ Los Angeles Mission College and has taken several courses for professional development at The Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley California and Chef Higgins has taught classes such as Food Production I, Food Production II, Menu planning, Food cost control, Safety and Sanitation, Introduction to Hospitality.
Chef Higgins has also held numerous Executive level positions in Catering and co- owned restaurants in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Chef Higgins is a proud member of the American Culinary Federation (ACF) and the International Food Service Executives Association (IFSEA) and a Certified Executive Chef (ACF). She has the distinguished rank of CEC (Certified Executive Chef) from the ACF.
Today, you can find Chef Higgins teaching Culinary Arts 101 and 102
Off campus in Malibu at Camp David Gonzales a juvenile detention facility. Giving incarcerated juvenile college credits.
