SPCH 121 - Interpersonal Communication
Course Overview
Course Description: Designed to provide skills and fuller understanding of how individuals cope with social interactions that are difficult, problematic, distressing, and disruptive in personal and familial relationships.
Course Objective: To provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively build, maintain and dissolve interpersonal relationships by understanding the interpersonal communication process, dynamics of interpersonal communication, intercultural communication, self-concept, influences on perception, verbal and non-verbal communication, listening, communication climates, managing conflict and effectively communicating in intimate, familial and work-related interpersonal relationships.
