Course Description: A history of the major stylistic movements of Contemporary art from 1945 to the present with attention to the historical circumstances of visual culture. While the Euro-American tradition will be the primary focus, art produced by the global community will also be considered with the advent of Globalism in the 1990s.
Student Learning Outcomes:
1. Analyze the evolution and function of art within historical, cultural, and philosophical contexts of Post World War II culture and society.
2. Compare and contrast works of art and architecture from different geographic areas and different stylistic movements.
