Graduation Information

DIPLOMAS

At the Commencement Ceremony, you will receive your diploma jacket. Your diploma should be available

during fall 2008, after spring 2008 and summer 2008 grades are verified. You will be notified by mail when

your diploma is ready to be picked up from the Admissions and Records Office.. 

COMMENCEMENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

Commencement announcements will be available at the LAMC Bookstore. Please plan on
getting your announcements as early as possible. LAMC giftware and clothing is also
available.

CAPS & GOWNS

The LAMC Bookstore is selling caps and gowns for $21.70, plus tax.

CLASS RINGS

A representative from Academic Cap & Gown will be on Campus, Monday, June 2nd,
from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., in the Campus Quad.

COMMENCEMENT PHOTOGRAPHS

At the Commencement Ceremony on Tuesday, June 3rd, photographs will be taken of
graduates as they walk on stage and as they are presented their diploma covers. For

COMMENCEMENT HONORS LIST

Students who are graduating with honors may purchase honor cords at the LAMC
Bookstore to wear over their graduation gowns. If you have any questions
regarding the Honors List, please call (818) 364-7611

The following is an explanation of these honors and commensurate cords:

• Summa Cum Laude (with highest praise) - 3.90 to 4.00 grade point average - gold cord
• Magna Cum Laude (with great praise) - 3.70 to 3.89 grade point average - blue cord
• Cum Laude (with praise) - 3.30 to 3.69 grade point average - white cord
