NEW STUDENT SERVICES
Doreen De Los Santos has joined the staff of Los Angeles Mission College as acting associate dean of student services, it was announced by Jose Luis Ramirez, vice president for student services.
De Los Santos comes to Mission from West Los Angeles College, where she served as director of student support services. She held a similar position prior to that at California Lutheran University, where she also worked as an academic counselor and an academic skills coordinator.
De Los Santos also has worked at Moorpark College as an assistant dean.
"Clearly, Ms. De Los Santos has the experience we need to assist Mission College in providing key services to our students," said Ramirez. "She also brings to our college energy and creativity in the field of student services."
Ramirez said De Los Santos will have primary responsibility for overseeing Mission College's Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS/CARE), which provides academic counseling, tutoring and other services to low income students, and the Veterans and International Students unit.
De Los Santos holds a Master's degree in Educational Psychology from California State University, Northridge, and a Bachelor's Degree in English from Cal Lutheran University.
