Baseball Begins Quest for State Title Against Palomar College

SYLMAR, CA – Los Angeles Mission College Baseball is the Western State Conference South Champion. The team opens play in the Southern California Community College regionals against Palomar College on Friday at 2 p.m. at El Cariso Park.

No. 8 seed L.A. Mission College defeated cross-town rival Pierce College to claim the conference title and finished the season at 26-13.

“I am very proud of our team’s achievements and hard work this year,” said Steve Ruys, director of athletics at L.A. Mission College. “With all of the years I have been working with student-athletes, I never get tired of watching our teams push themselves, striving to be better, and setting new challenges.”

The Eagles face Palomar College, who finished the regular season 31-8. Both games will be played at El Cariso Park, Game 1 on Friday at 2 p.m. and Game 2 on Saturday at 11 a.m. If a tiebreaker is necessary, game three will be played following game two.

The price of general admission is $12 per game and $30 for an all-tournament pass. The rate for students, faculty, staff, seniors, and children under 12 is $8 per game and $24 for an all-tournament pass.
