Dolores Huerta, co-founder of the United Farm Workers Union and an internationally renowned feminist, will speak to an audience of students, faculty, and members of the community. Huerta will close the college’s celebration of Women’s History Month by addressing “The Importance of Higher Education and Women’s Rights.” She will also talk about the legacy of Cesar Chavez on the eve of the State holiday honoring his birthday*.

Ms. Huerta will also discuss the work of the Dolores Huerta Foundation in training and organizing workers to fight for decent wages, better working conditions, health and educational benefits and other labor and human rights.

The event is co-sponsored by Mission College’s Diversity Committee, EOP&S, MEChA, and the Associated Student Organization. It is free and open to the public.
