The MECHA student group sponsored its annual Fiestas Patrias, an event dedicated to celebrating the independence of Mexico and other Latin American nations. Genaro Ayala, co-founder of La Raza Unida Party in San Fernando, was guest speaker. The day also featured “piñata-making” for tots from the Campus Child Development Center, vendors, a book sale, and entertainment by seniors from the Golden Dreams retirement home.
