Staff at Mission College gathered to say goodbye to Dr. Adriana Barrera at a farewell event on November 29. Dr. Barrera, president of Mission College from 2000-05, now serves as Senior Vice Chancellor of the Los Angeles Community College District. During the event, several employees, including fellow administrators, instructors and classified staff, paid tribute to Barrera and the positivite changes she has brought to Mission College. Dr. Barrera told the group of about 70 employees that she will miss Mission College, but leaves with a greater understanding of the challenges facing small colleges. Employees gave her a standing ovation. Afterwards many of them privately wished her well in her new job.
