The voices of Mission College students and staff were among those calling for an end to violence against women. They took part in “Denim Day in Los Angeles”, an effort to address the problem of domestic violence, rape, and other assaults against women and family members. Many students wrote messages based on their personal experiences with domestic violence. The messages were written on old clothes which were then hung on the campus Quad. Instructor Myriam Mekelburg and her sociology students organized the impressive, sobering “Clothesline Project.”
