Campus Highlights in Pictures
In early
October, Mission College and the Community

getting children to read more...and
on convincing parents of the importance
of reading to their kids.
Nobel Laureate Rigoberta
Menchú Tum returned to Mission
College, noting that her visit last
year ended early due to illness. She
urged students to dedicate themselves
to helping others. Instructor John
Morales was among those at the book
signing.
Its an annual
treat for employees when children
from the Campus Child Development
Center come trick-or-treating. Student
worker Jessica Araujo handed out goodies
at the EOP&S office window.
Mission College students
got answers to their questions about
four-year colleges and universities
at the annual Transfer Fair. Representatives
from more than 20 colleges attended.
In November, the student
group MECHA sponsored its annual remembrance
of the dead. Guest speaker Rosi Emma
Amaya explained traditions of Dia
de Los Muertos, including altar ceremony.

vets who have served in conflicts
from World War II to the Iraqi War
at its annual Veterans Day Ceremony.
