Library Information Competency Workshops
There are six different workshops offered. They are Internet I & II, MLA Format, Finding Books, Finding Journal & Newspaper Articles, and Research Strategies.

Here are some important things to know about the workshops!!!
- All students and faculty are welcome to attend the workshops. They are helpful to anyone who needs to write a research paper.
- English (except 21) and Speech classes require 3 workshops.
- Workshops include a lecture and a hands-on exercise in order to receive credit. A verification form is given at the end of the class.
- Students need to come to the library to sign-up for the workshops. There will be a notebook at the reference desk.
- We only have room for 30 students per workshop. Do not wait until the end of the semester!!!
- We also offer workshops on four Saturdays if you find that the weekday times are not convenient.
Workshop Descriptions
Any of the six workshops below will give students a hands-on experience. Students will have exercises to be completed during class to reinforce the skills they have learned in each workshop. All workshops will provide students with an instructional aid that they can use when they are on their own in the library or when they are working at home. Students each need to choose three workshops to take and get a verification form as proof of attendance.
