Computer Commons: Individual Use Computers

Over 120 new computers are available for current LAMC students to use in the Learning Center computer commons area. There is no charge to use the computers but you must have your new student ID# to log in. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet are accessible on the Individual Use side of the Commons. Accessing gaming sites and/or downloading games is prohibited. During heavy use hours, students are limited to 20 minutes on the computers and may be asked to log off so students on the wait list can access computers. Students will not be able to access LRC programs that enhance academic success from these computers, but students can login to the Learning Lab computers for these programs.

Computer Commons: Learning Lab Academic Use Computers

The Learning Lab provides computers from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for Developmental Communications (Dev Com) students to access academic programs for their classes. Only Development Communication students can login to the computers on tables marked DEV COM since the students' hours on these computers are reported to the Developmental Communication instructors.

All other computers in the Learning Lab are available from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and students can receive a referral from their instructors or LRC staff members to access these computers.
