- If you are a current student and wish to access to college wireless network, your user name is your student ID number and password is your PIN number. You must select LAMC students in the drop down menu.
- If you are a faculty or staff with Los Angeles Mission College, your user name is the first part of your email address (the part before @lamission.edu), and password is your email password.
- If you are a visitor, vendor, consultant or guest with the college, you can access to the college wireless network through a guest account. A guest account will be issued by the LAMC IT department upon request from Mission College department chair or office manager. A guest account and password will only be valid for the date/time of the visit.

Los Angeles Mission College Wireless Network is available for faculty, staff and current students at any time. Visitors, vendors, consultants, or guests can also access the college wireless network if a guest account is requested by a Mission College department or office.
You will need a laptop that has built-in wireless capabilities or a wireless card. Older laptops that do not have built-in wireless networking capabilities require a wireless network adapter that plugs into your laptop’s PCMCIA slot.
Most of 802.11a, 802.11b, and 802.11g wireless cards will work with campus wireless network.
On the Intel platform, we support Windows XP, and Vista. For Macintosh, we support Mac OS 9 and Mac OS 10x.
The Mission campus is currently using 802.11a/b/g standard also known as “Wi-Fi”.
No, Internet is the only available resource in the wireless network. You still need to go to computer lab to access to academic software and/or printing.
Wireless access is available in most of classrooms, buildings, and adjacent areas. Please check out online map for location coverage.
With the 802.11g wireless standard you can have a connection of 54 Mg/sec at best. The connection speed depends on the distance and the number of people sharing the access point.
In short, it is not secure!
Due to its nature, wireless networking is a broadcast-medium. You should be aware of the inherent risks of using a wireless network and use the network accordingly. Example, using credit card for online purchasing is not recommended on a wireless
Unless approved by Information Technology Department, an unauthorized wireless access point will be disconnected.
