Integrated Planning Committee
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The Integrated Planning Committee is a campus-wide committee of representatives from various constituent groups that is responsible for improving the integration of the College’s plans and carrying out the tasks outlined in the College’s 2016 Accreditation Self Evaluation Report Quality Focus Essay, Action Project One: Integrated Planning.
The Integrated Planning Committee will be composed of the following voting members:
- Academic Senate appointment
- EPC Co-Chair
- SSS Committee Co-Chair
- Technology Committee Co-Chair
- Facilities and Planning Committee Co-Chair
- Budget and Planning Committee Co-Chair
- Director of Facilities
- IT Manager
- Institutional Effectiveness Dean
- Classified member appointed by the President
- ASO member appointed by ASO President
- The three Vice Presidents
Non-voting members: President, ASC Faculty Co-Chair, Academic Affairs Dean, Student Services Dean.
The Integrated Planning Committee is sanctioned by and is a standing committee of College Council.
- Integrate planning and maximize College resources to enable the College to better fulfill its Mission.
- Examine studies that have been done on best practices in higher education related to integrated planning and other national and peer group data derived from carefully designed research.
- Develop and coordinate the implementation of an improved Integrated Planning Model for the College.
- Establish a timeline for completion of the development of the improved Integrated Planning Model.
- Review current plans, objectives, and activities for alignment with the College’s Strategic Master Plan.
- Identify duplicate or overlapping planning objectives and activities across the various College plans so that effort and resources can be streamlined to best serve students.
- Consider ways to link or merge some of the College’s existing plans (e.g., the Educational Master Plan, Strategic Enrollment Management Plan, Technology Master Plan, Technology Replacement Plan, Facilities Master Plan, Student Services Master Plan, and Distance Education Plan) with the Strategic Master Plan to develop a more focused Strategic Master Plan and manageable set of College plans.
- Review planning cycles to ensure that all College planning activities are aligned with the College’s Strategic Master Plan and Accreditation cycles.
- Develop a LAMC integrated planning communication plan.
- Identify forums for engagement and data gathering (e.g., Academic Senate meetings, staff and administrative councils, student government, etc.).
- Establish and engage in workshops on collaborative planning that include all of the LAMC key stakeholders.
- In collaboration with the College Council and Executive Team, evaluate online planning databases such as the Strategic Planning Online (SPOL) or other products to assist the College in the collection and storage of planning data.
- Members will receive professional development to develop this new direction in integrated planning.
The Office of the President and the Office of Academic Affairs will be responsible for providing administrative support.
- It is the responsibility of every member to attend each meeting and adhere to the College Code of Conduct.
- Members are responsible to disseminate committee information to their respective constituents.
- Members with three unexcused absences during any semester will be replaced by the appropriate constituent group.
