School Relations Committee
Statement of Explanation for the Pursuit of
the Committee’s Projects
The High School Relations Committee is devoted to the principles incorporated in the Mission and Vision Statements of CASFAA. Our committee meets these principles by offering a variety of professional development opportunities for members. These include:
The opportunity to help develop and revise financial aid presentations to high school counselors and outreach coordinators at the statewide co-sponsored High School Counselor Workshops.
The opportunity to present at the workshops.
The opportunity to converse with high school seniors and parents about financial aid options at the WACAC and NACAC state-wide college fairs.
The opportunity to develop reference materials for the Financial Aid Night Network (FANN) project.
The exposure our committee receives at the High School Counselor Workshops, WACAC and NACAC college fairs and through the creation of FANN will help CASFAA gain recognition and trust among our other educational partners. Also, we are able to be proactive in providing information to counselors and outreach coordinators in the K-12 education system where early awareness of college financial aid options is key to students making their transition to our member institutions or other post-secondary institutions.
