Financial Aid - Timelines & Deadlines

Attention!
Students who have not yet applied for financial aid for the 2009-2010 academic year should still apply. Complete and submit the 2009-2010 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible. DO NOT WAIT until the beginning of the Fall 2009 semester to apply for financial aid.

Summer 2009 term begins

June 30

Last day to apply and request a refund for the Board of Governor’s fee waiver application for the 2008-2009 academic year (Summer 2008, Fall 2008, Winter 2009 and/or Spring 2009).

July 2

Deadline for the following items:

• Request for a Federal Student Loan for Summer 2009

July 3 and 4

HOLIDAY, campus closed (no classes)

July 10

Deadline for the following items:

• Petitions for Income Reduction or Dependency Status Change
• Required documentation and verification documents to be processed for financial aid for Summer 2009
• Last day to submit Ability to Benefit (ATB) test results for Summer 2009

July 21

Deadline for the following items:

• Petitions for Disqualifications for Summer 2009 (petitions for reinstatement or extension of financial aid eligibility)

July 26

Summer 2009 classes end at LA Mission College

Fall 2009

August 31

Fall 2009 semester begins

Sept 7

HOLIDAY, college closed (no classes)

Deadlines for the following:

• Request for a Federal Student Loan for Fall 2009 and Winter 2010.*
• Submit required documentation and verification items to be processed for financial aid for Fall 2009.*
• Last day to submit Ability to Benefit (ATB) test results for Fall 2009
• Petitions for Income Reduction or Dependency Status Change*

* If you are continuing your enrollment at LA Mission College for the Spring 2010 semester, you may continue to submit:

• Federal Student Loan applications thru May 25, 2010, assuming you will be enrolled as a half-time or more student in the Spring semester.
Required documentation and verification items to be processed for financial aid for 2009-2010.
• Petitions for Income Reduction or Dependency Status Change for 2009-2010.
