2 INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Prerequisite: None | Lecture: 1 hour. 1 UNIT RPT3

This course will provide the student with the opportunity to explore personal values, goals, and interests as well as develop interpersonal skills that will help promote success in school as well as in other aspects of his/her life.

4 CAREER PLANNING
Prerequisite: None | Lecture: 1 hour. CSU 1 UNIT
Note: Class graded credit/no-credit.
Designed to give the vocationally undecided student an understanding of the career planning process. May include vocational tests, various self-appraisal techniques, and information regarding occupational characteristics, trends, entry and career levels. Teaches career planning skills and allows the student to work toward a career choice.

6 COLLEGE AND CAREER PLANNING FOR THE HANDICAPPED
Prerequisite: None | Lecture: 1 hour. CSU 1 UNIT
Open to all students. Introduces the disabled to the world of work. Includes discussions of disabilities in relation to educational and vocational goals, job preference survey, career choice research, locating and applying for jobs, resume writing, interviewing and on-the-job communication skills.

16 COLLEGE ORIENTATION AND EDUCATIONAL PLANNING
Prerequisite: None | Lecture: 1 hour. NDA 1 UNIT
Note: Class graded credit/no-credit.
Open to all students. This course provides the student with information essential for
survival in college, including and overview and visitations to various support services. Emphasis will be placed on development in study skills, productive time management skills, an understanding of college terminology, knowledge of and utilization of college support services This student will be graded on a
credit/no credit basis.

17 COLLEGE SURVIVAL SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
Prerequisite: None | Lecture: 1 hour. CSU 1 UNIT
Note: Class graded credit/no-credit.
Provides the students with information and enabling to succeed in college.

18 (GUIDANCE) SKILLS DEVELOPMENT AND PREPARATION FOR EMPLOYMENT
Prerequisite: None | Lecture: 1 hour. CSU 1 UNIT
Designed to help students develop skills and attitudes that will assist them in finding and succeeding in a job. Course includes instruction in job sources, resume and cover letter writing, job application, interview techniques, and job survival skills.

20 POST SECONDARY EDUCATION:THE SCOPE OF CAREER PLANNING
Prerequisite: None | Lecture: 2 hours, lab 1 hour. 3 UNITS
Note: Class graded credit/no-credit.
This course provides information on college services and college survival skills. It includes career planning and job hunting techniques.

22 THE TRANSFER PROCESS
Prerequisite: None | Lecture: 1 hour. CSU 1 UNIT
This course covers the college transfer process including requirements and application procedures for public and private institutions of higher education. Research utilizing the www will be included.

105 COLLEGIATE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE RESEARCH AND PROCESS
Prerequisite: None | 0.5 UNIT RPT1
Collegiate financial assistance research, process, and policies are covered. Internet resources are to be included.

106 COLLEGE: THE LEARNING COMMUNITY
Prerequisite: None | Lecture: 2 hours, lab 1 hour. CSU 3 UNITS
Course assists in the transition to higher education, includes discussion of intellectual pursuit and integrity, college policies, services and resources with web exploration and skills necessary to function in an information society.

485 INTERNET RESEARCH
Prerequisite: None | Lab: 2 hours. CSU 1 UNIT RPT2
Internet Research teaches how to use search engines; basic and advanced searches with Boolean and proximity operators; how to locate materials in various content fields; how to critically evaluate these sources; and how to use and cite electronic sources.
