This course offers a study of the physical elements of the earth, with
emphasis on the nature, distribution, and relationships of land forms,climate,soils,vegetation,and
their integrated patterns of world distribution. Acceptable for credit:
CSUN: Geography 101.
2 CULTURAL
ELEMENTS OF GEOGRAPHY
(CAN GEOG 4)
Prerequisite: None | Lecture: 3 hours. UC:CSU 3 UNITS
This course offers a study of the tremendous variety of humans who occupy
this planet Earth and their development of cultures, languages, economics,
social and political systems, and their religions. Emphasis will be on
the role of humans as they alter the face of the earth. Acceptable for
credit: CSUN: Geography 150.
7 WORLD
REGIONAL GEOGRAPHY
Prerequisite: None | Lecture: 3 hours. UC:CSU 3 UNITS
This course offers a geographical survey of the worlds major regions
with emphasis on those features important to an understanding of current
global concerns and problems. Acceptable for credit: CSUN: Geography 150.
14 GEOGRAPHY
OF CALIFORNIA
Prerequisite: None | Lecture: 3 hours. UC:CSU 3 UNITS
This course is a regional study of Californias physical features
and natural resources in relation to patterns of population and settlement,
economic activities, transportation routes and trade. Emphasis is placed
on natural history, population trends, settlement patterns and the contributions
of many diverse peoples.
15 PHYSICAL
GEOGRAPHY LABORATORY
Prerequisite or corequisite: Geog 1 | Lecture: 1 hour, lab 2 hours. UC:CSU
2 UNITS
Earth environment laboratory with field trips stressing the use of the
scientific method in interpreting Earth-Sun relations, time; earth representation
through globes and maps, map plotting, location and interpolation; weather
climates; natural vegetation and soils; mountain building and landform
evolution.
Acceptable for credit: CSUN: Geography 102.
