First course in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing French.
Introduction to the cultures and civilization of the French-speaking world.
Intended primarily for students with little or no knowledge of French.
Acceptable for credit: CSUN: French 101 + 101C.
2 ELEMENTARY

3 INTERMEDIATE
FRENCH I

Prerequisite: French 2 or equivalent | Lecture: 5 hours. UC:CSU 5 UNITS
Review and development of grammatical concepts learned in previous courses.
Amplification of vocabulary and practice in composition. Introduction
to literature and further study of culture and civilization through short
stories. Acceptable for credit: CSUN: French 204.
4 INTERMEDIATE

Prerequisite: French 3 or 6 semesters of high school French | Lecture:
5 hours. UC:CSU 5 UNITS
