TO BIOLOGY

Students examine the fundamental principles of biology with laboratory
emphasizing active use of the scientific method. Meets UC/CSU GE requirement
of natural science with a lab. Acceptable for credit: UCLA, CSUN: Biology

Lecture: 3 hours, lab 6 hours. UC:CSU 5 UNITS
This course examines the unifying principles of biology through the study
of biological molecules, cell structure and function, metabolism, inheritance,
molecular genetics, evolution, and population genetics. Fundamental course
for biology majors. Acceptable for credit: UCLA, CSUN: Biology 107 + 107L.

BIOLOGY II ORGANISMAL, EVOLUTIONARY AND ECOLOGICAL BIOLOGY
(CAN BIOL SEQ A: Bio 6 + 7)
Prerequisite: None | Advisory: English 28
Lecture: 3 hours, lab 6 hours. UC:CSU 5 UNITS
Students examine the unifying principles of biology through the study
of phylogeny, taxonomy, animal and plant structure/function, population
biology and ecology. Together with Biology 6, this is a fundamental course
of biology majors. Acceptable for credit: UCLA, CSUN: Biology 106 + 106L.
33 MEDICAL
TERMINOLOGY
Prerequisite: None | Lecture: 3 hours. 3 UNITS
This course presents medical vocabulary by examining the meanings of word
components: roots, suffixes and prefixes. It is ideal for allied health
professionals and allied health students. Emphasis is on words used in
clinical medicine.
