Outreach

Counselor Day was held on March 16, 2011. About 35 counselors from 17 area high schools discussed 'Issues in Counseling', learned about Mission College's Special Programs and Services, and participated in Career Pathways presentations by department representatives from Culinary Arts, Paralegal, Administration of Justice, Child Development, Multimedia and the new Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Program.

Student Activities

Last year's Focus on Careers event was held on October 28, 2011 at Los Angeles Mission College (LAMC). Activities included presentations by the following LAMC/CTE departments: Administration of Justice, Culinary Arts, Child Development, Business, and Computer Applications and Office Technology, a college fair staffed by 10 CTE departments and student services, and a tour of the campus. This is the largest outreach event hosted by LAMC except for high school Senior Day held in the Spring.
