NEW UPDATED MASTER PLAN FOR MISSION COLLEGE

June 19, 2006

Dear Neighbor,

We would like to share with you some new information on the status of our Proposition A/AA
building effort. Los Angeles Mission College plans to update its campus master plan and will begin actively working with local neighbors and community groups to help in the planning process. As your neighbor, we appreciate and value your opinions and insight.

This is a new beginning for Mission College, and a time to take the best pieces from the original master plan and build on them to create an even better master plan that will serve Mission College and the local community well for years to come.

The new plan will eliminate multiple lighted baseball and softball fi elds near El Cariso Park and in the area known as the Pacoima Wash. The lighting at the ball fields in the original master plan were a concern of local residents.

In addition, the College is seeking to acquire vacant land along Harding Street, that was not
previously for sale when the initial master plan was conceived. The College is considering building a new health and wellness educational facility on that location which would also include abundant open space and green belts, complete with a walking/jogging trail system which our neighbors would be able to utilize.

We would like to invite you to attend Mission College’s fi rst public scoping meeting on Wednesday, June 28 at 6 p.m. in the Campus Center building. We will also have refreshments available.

If you have any questions regarding the meeting or our updated plans, please feel free to contact Michele Walters at (818) 364-7819 for more information.

We look forward to working with you as we take a fresh look at our master plan.

Sincerely,

Dr. Jose Leyba
Interim President
