The spring semester of the 2001-2002 school year is my 5th semester attending Los Angeles Mission College. I say this with much joy because I am on my way to transferring after this semester. After finishing high school at the age of 20, college seemed like an almost unrealistic option for me. I was not a very good student. But after coming in contact with people that changed my perspective on education, I decided to go to college.
At first it was pretty intimidating. My fellow students were taking advanced college level classes and I was taking Math 105 and English 21. Where I needed to be seemed like such a far-fetched goal. But I didn't give up. I worked hard in my classes, and did well.
Now, two years later, I am looking forward to transferring to Woodbury University as an accounting major. I've also managed to maintain a 3.6 GPA, and have the privilege of holding the position of ASO Treasurer. |
