In this workshop, we will address the underlying psychological factors that bring forth motivated behaviors such as self-efficacy, value and attributions. We will also discuss specific strategies that you can use to increase student motivation, persistence and ultimately, their success.

Habits of Mind for Developmental Math

This introductory workshop provides an orientation to a Habits of Mind framework for supporting students in Developmental Math courses.  Topics include Hope, Growth Mindset, Grit, and Mental Dispositions/Habits needed for success. This two-day conference, by and for tutors and other educators, showcases effective practices in tutoring, supplemental instruction, and a wide variety of learning assistance programs and services within the California Community Colleges.
