To teach an online or hybrid course at LAMC, faculty must be proficient in the use of our campus learning management system (LMS). Additionally, faculty should demonstrate the ability to create effective online learning experiences for students in Canvas.
Los Angeles Mission College uses the Canvas Learning Management System by Instructure. Please complete the free, self-paced or moderated "Introduction to Teaching with Canvas"
training through @One
Certification in the use of online pedagogy can be met through experience or training. If you have never taught a hybrid or online course, the Distance Education Committee recommends the @One
course "Introduction to Online Teaching and Learning"
To submit proof of completion of training or for more information about your equivalent experience, please contact the LAMC Distance Education Coordinator
