Please stop by and visit your library and let us know what we can do for you and your students. The following is a list of some of our services.
Library Tours, Orientations, and Assignment Specific Library Instruction
You may request a library orientation or workshop by clicking here, or by contacting the reference desk at 818-364-7600 ext.7105. Please note that library orientations and workshops cannot be used as substitutes for a full class period, and that classroom faculty need to be present.
21st Century research guides are general, subject, or assignment specific guides compiled by LAMC librarians in collaboration with faculty. Contact a librarian today and make one for your class! http://libguides.lamission.edu/
It is very helpful to students to have class materials, especially textbooks, available in the Library, to read or to make copies of. If you have a spare copy, please fill out this form and bring it and the material to the Library so we can make the material available to students. Material can remain yours, or can be donated to the Library.
If attempts to contact faculty fail, any unclaimed materials over 5 years become library property.
Open Educational Resources
Our guide to finding and adopting OERs is available here.
A reference librarian is available to help find information and provide instruction in the use of the library either to groups or individuals. You may want to check with the reference librarian to see if the library has resources to support your assignment. 818-364-7600 ext. 7105
Find e-books, articles in periodicals and newspapers and reference information online. http://www.lamission.edu/library/resources.aspx
If a book you need is not available at this library, you can request it from a library within the LACC District. Make your request with the reference librarian, and expect the item(s) to arrive no sooner than 1 week from day of request.
Requesting a Book
If you would like the Library to consider acquiring a book, please use the Book Request Form. The library will not purchase items that are owned and currently checked out. We cannot guarantee that all items will be purchased nor can we guarantee how long an item will take to acquire.
Several study rooms are available for student use. Groups have priority over individuals, and rooms are available on a first-come, first served basis—no reservations.
