If you are a new student, please follow these important steps before making an appointment with a counselor.
Step 1 - Apply to the college. You will be redirected to the California Community Colleges website. Follow the steps provided to complete the online application. Completeion of the college application will generate Math and English placement information.
Please Note: English as a Second Language (ESL) students, please refer to STEP 2.
Allow 5-7 business days for your application to be processed. Once your application is processed, you will receive an email confirmation with your Student Identification Number.
Step 2 - English as a Second Language (ESL) students and general AB705 assessment updates, please refer to the Assessment Center website:
Step 3 - Complete the Online Orientation by logging in through the Student Information System (your portal). Orientation provides important information about college resources such as Financial Aid, the Transfer Center, and Counseling.
Step 4 - Meet with a Counselor to discuss your educational goals, course requirements, develop student educational plans and to explore majors.Click on the following link to chat with our front desk counter http://lamission.edu/Counseling/Home.aspx
Step 5 - Apply for Financial Aid. All students are encouraged to apply. Start by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.gov
Step 6 - Choose your courses from the Schedule of Classes and register online.
