Boy Scouts Merit Badge

The Administration of Justice Program at Los Angeles Mission College has partnered with the Boy Scouts of America in supporting their merit badge program in Fingerprinting. During a two-hour workshop, scouts explore the world of criminal investigation and forensic science and at the same time, meet all of the merit badge requirements in fingerprinting. The workshop includes:

• Short history of fingerprints
• Basic fingerprint patterns
• Practice rolling fingerprints on cards
• Developing, lifting, and analyzing latent prints
• Mock Crime Scene exercise

Recently a scout troop from Santa Clarita participated in the workshop and scouts received a certificate of completion and will be eligible to receive their merit badge in Fingerprinting.
